Lutheran Homes of Oshkosh
A Flying Takeoff is an extraordinary way to initiate Cycling Without Age. At Lutheran Homes of Oshkosh both Ole and Dorthe met with our elders and leaders in the community-at-large. Our elected officials, members of the press/media, business owners and statewide healthcare regulators were excited to learn about this innovative, intergenerational activity for our seniors. Many pilots were trained and our spirits were infused with encouragement by their energy. Many of our residents have been riding the rickshaws, creating extraordinary moments of fun, laughter and wonder. Our Flying Takeoff made us the talk-of-the-town with pictures that have become instant heirlooms for many of our elders.
Not to mention the general education across the community, the state, and the United States! We have had many inquiries of other like facilities wanting to know more about getting a Cycling Without Age program at their care facility!! We truly appreciated the sharing of stories and energy that Ole and Dorthe provided during their stay!
