Being able to revisit the places where Ruth used to spend so much time in her youth brought back many happy memories. Skiing down the snowy slopes of Arosa, being surrounded by the breath-taking Alps, breathing the fresh mountain air, feeling the sun on her skin and wind in her hair, are what made her feel at home. Not just looking at the mountains – but being right there having all her senses stimulated again. The cable car operators kindly helped us board the cable car and offered us free rides to the top. The social impact of being part of society during those few hours is enormous.
Another day I took Annemarie along the stunning “squirrel path” back to the village. The path, surrounded by nature, led them through the woods. As they drove gently and slowly to avoid the roots of the trees, squirrels approached them with curiosity. Annemarie had some nuts on her lap and one squirrel decided to hop up to nibble on the treat.

Etre capable de revisiter les endroits ou Ruth passait habituellement tellement de temps pendant sa jeunesse à réveillé de vieux souvenirs. Faire des descentes en ski sur les pistes de ski enneigées d`Arosa, être entouré d`imposant sommet des alpes, respirer le grand air frais des montagnes, sentir le soleil sur sa peau et le vent dans ses cheveux ce sont tous ces moments qui lui ont rappelé son chez soi. Non seulement regarder les montagnes – mais aussi d`être là et avoir ses sens stimulés de nouveau.
Les gérants du funiculaire nous ont aimablement aidé à monter dans le funiculaire et nous ont offert les trajets jusqu`au sommet. L`effet social de faire partie de la société pendant ces quelques heures est énorme.
Un autre jour j’ai emmené Annemarie au long du hallucinant “chemin des écureuils” retour vers le village.
Le chemin entouré de nature nous a conduit à travers les bois. Lorsque nous circulions doucement et avec précaution pour éviter les racines des arbres, des écureuils les ont approchés avec curiosité. Annemarie avait quelques noisettes sur ses genoux quand soudain un des écureuils à décidé de sauter sur ses genoux pour grignoter la friandise.

Rivisitare i luoghi in cui Ruth ha passato così tanto tempo in gioventù ha riportato molti ricordi felici: sciare sulle piste innevate di Arosa, circondata dalla vista spettacolare sulle Alpi; respire l’aria fresca di montagna, sentendo il sole sulla sua pelle e il vento nei capelli. Questi sentimenti sono ciò che la faceva sentire a casa. Non solamente guardare le montagne – ma proprio essere lì e sentire tutti i sensi stimolati nuovo. Gli operatori della funivia gentilmente ci hanno aiutato a salire a bordo e ci hanno offerto una risalita.
L’impatto sociale di far attivamente parte della società, già solo per poche ore, è enorme.
Un altro giorno ho portato Annemarie lungo lo splendido “percorso dello scoiattolo” per ritornare verso il villaggio.
Il percorso, immerso nella natura, conduceva a noi attraverso i boschi. Il movimento lento e attento per evitare le radici degli alberi durante il tragitto nella foresta incuriosiva gli scoiattoli, che si avvicinavano divertiti.
Annemarie aveva alcune noci e uno scoiattolo decise di salire sulle sue ginocchia per sgranocchiarle.

Der Besuch von Plätzen, an denen Ruth den Grossteil ihrer Jugend verbracht hatte, weckte viele glückliche Erinnerungen in ihr. Die Skipisten von Arosa herunterfahren, umgeben von den atemberaubenden Alpen, die frische Bergluft einatmen, die Sonnenstrahlen auf der Haut und den Wind in den Haaren spüren – das war für sie ihr Zuhause. Sie genoss es sehr, für einmal nicht nur die Berge aus der Distanz anzuschauen, sondern sie wieder mit all ihren Sinnen zu erleben.
Die Betreiber der Bergbahnen halfen uns freundlich beim Einstieg in die Gondel und haben uns sogar die Bergfahrt geschenkt. Während diesen Stunden hat sich Ruth wieder als fester Teil der Gemeinschaft gefühlt.
An einem anderen Tag habe ich Annemarie auf einen Ausflug auf den Eichhörnchenweg mitgenommen. Der Weg führte uns durch die wunderbare Natur und Wälder. Eichhörnchen näherten sich neugierig, während wir gemütlich unseren Weg um die Baumwurzeln herum bahnten. Annemarie hatte ein paar Nüsse auf ihrem Schoss, mit denen sie die Eichhörnchen fütterte. Ein Eichhörnchen sprang sogar zu ihr hinauf und bediente sich selber an den Nüssen.
